good news

November 3, 2008

I’ve been keeping up the exercise thing with the group from work.  Typically, we do weights training in the gym on Mondays, and we go for a long jog/run to Jacob’s Ladder in King’s Park and back, on Wednesdays.  I’ve gone pretty regularly, and it’s slowly becoming less overwhelming and less exhausting, and more, well, uplifting, I guess.

Anyhow, as per usual, we were in the gym today, and was having a drink of water, when I absent-mindedly looked at my upper arms.  While I’m not overjoyed with having gained weight, it’s specific manifestations of it that do worry me.  So, for example, I could live with my fat thighs, if it wasn’t for the cellulite.

So yes, I was looking at my upper arms, not really thinking about them, when I actually focused on them.  I lifted one arm and played with my bingo wings, which I affectionately refer to as my ‘granny flaps’.  You know, the ugly bit that drops off your arms and wobbles unappealingly? Yeah, that bit.  I spent a bit of time on both arms, but when I was finished, I was amazed, but convinced.  I’d lost my bingo wings.

Incredible, but true.  My arms are still fat, but they’re not going flobble-lobble-obble any more.  They’re not muscly, but they’re not flolloping all over the place like they were.  I guess you could describe them as fat but toned.  Not an overly attractive mental image, but a definite improvement on what they were previously, trust me.

So yes, this was great, but completely unexpected, news.  It definitely improved my Monday, I can tell you. :D
