The unexamined life is not worth living – Socrates
Hi. I’m trying to think of what to write about myself, but I feel that I’m full of so many contradicting pieces of information and history (as we all are) that I can’t make it come together coherently. So, as a summary, these are the things that make me who I am:
- I’m 31 (at least I am today, 27 July 2008).
- I live in Perth, Western Australia, known as the most remote city on the planet.
- Married to my darling Significant Other (referred to throughout as SO).
- I love music. I played the flute for many years, and I sing (not well, but loudly, especially in the shower).
- I hate cooking and watching movies at home. Cooking is a waste of time and energy, and I don’t really have the interest or attention span for watching movies.
- I enjoy risky adventures in the property market. We’ve bought three investment properties, all of which we’ve embarked on some serious renovations. We’re not house flippers – we’re in it for renting out the properties.
- I have a first class honours degree in economics. While this sounds impressive, it really doesn’t mean a lot in terms of my career. I suspect it helped me get my first professional job, but other than that it hasn’t really contributed a lot to my life.
- I’m suffering from severe clinical depression (major depressive disorder).
- I’m a homebody. I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than relax in my own home.
I guess that’s me. If I think of anything else that’s significant, I’ll update this page.
Welcome to my blog!
